Cycling Initiatives - Exchanging places
On Wednesday 11 June, Sisk partnered with a number of organisations to organise the Old Street Cycle Festival in the City of London.
One of those partners,The Metropolitan Police, have set up a cycle task force called Exchanging Places and there were 46 participants present at the event. Cyclists are encouraged to sit in the Police demonstrator lorry in order to understand the constraints on lorry drivers' visibility from the driver's seat.
CEEQUAL Excellent Score of 90.4% acheived for the A477 trunk road
The A477 improvement project in Wales, between St. Clears and Red Roses, includes the construction of 9.3km of roadway with five bridges, six underpasses, a river bridge, two mammal passes, five flood relief culverts, renovation of an existing masonry arch bridge and two slip roads to the existing road. It's a £68m project that Transport Minister Edwina Hart described as a 'vital part of the trans-European road network'.
Sisk ranked 10th in UK Top 50 Contractor tables - Jan to June 2014
Sisk acheived an impressive 10th position nationally in the Barbour ABI Top 50 Contractors Tables for orders awarded for the first six months of 2014.
Barbour ABI are the Provider of the UK Government’s Construction and Infrastructure Pipeline.
At the end of June Sisk have been awarded £407m of orders in 17 projects. Recent awards include a new hangar for Airbus, and bet365’s new corporate headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent.
