ECI A477, St Clears to Red Roses

The John Sisk & Son and Roadbridge joint venture company, SRB Civil Engineering Ltd, is the ECI Contractor for the A477 Trunk Road Improvement Scheme. Through Early Contractor Involvement we are helping ensure that a best value solution is developed, whilst minimising the environmental impact of the scheme. It is anticipated that construction works on site will begin in Winter 2011.

The A477 from St Clears to Pembroke Dock is one of the main road links in West Wales and is recognised as an important part of the Welsh Assembly Government’s strategic road network. This scheme aims to improve the quality of life for the local community and will greatly improve the alignment of the road, raise safety standards and improve journey times.

The scheme will deliver approximately 8.7km of new trunk road with a significant number of bridge and underpass structures, drainage works, pipeline crossings and access, together with visibility improvements to the existing road.

The first ECI phase of the contract consists of the preparation of preliminary designs, with support from engineering and environmental consultants, Gifford, and assistance with the statutory procedures and public enquiry.
