“…a positive approach to working with the client’s design team; in particular, ensuring that the quality of the finished rooms met the standards set by the Client as well as the Design Team”
Gordon Thomson, MD, Formation Architects
This prestigious project involved the refurbishment of 215 bedrooms over nine levels of the South and West wings of the Langham Hotel to create four new house styles - Deluxe, Executive, Langham and Junior suites.
By stripping these areas down to an empty shell, it was possible to completely reconfigure the bedrooms and create the larger bathrooms sought after by hotel customers.
As well as upgrading the rooms, all of the associated services have also been overhauled. This included replacing or upgrading bathroom extraction fans, installing a new air handling unit for the corridor ventilation and adding condensers for the new room air conditioning system - all of which add to the comfort experienced throughout the hotel.
The works were carried out whilst the North and East wings were still trading; therefore, a high level of control was required to ensure the business of the hotel was not unduly affected by refurbishment works.
