Over the past 150 years, the SISK Group has survived many challenging crisis periods and downturns, and has remained in family ownership, a stabilising and supportive feature in difficult times. Yet this has not inhibited growth and the recent development in the past five years of a large healthcare division is an example of how the Group can make very significant strategic moves. Healthcare was identified as an area which has shown robust performance in bad times as well as good, and together with our experience of distribution, the Group embarked on an acquisition trail in 2005.

Operating under the umbrella structure, SISK Healthcare, the Group now runs five significant healthcare businesses with operations in Ireland and the UK. SISK Healthcare has become a market leading healthcare distribution business employing over 250 people in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain. These businesses have all grown and flourished within the SISK Group. 

In January 2010, the SISK Group has diversified its activities further by moving into the medical equipment manufacturing with the acquisition of Eschmann Holdings, one of the largest manufacturers of operating tables, electrosurgical and dental medical equipment.
