The Metroexpress Group of which Sisk is a member, were recently confirmed as being successful in their bid to proceed to the BAFO stage of the Metro North tender.

This Transport 21 scheme is 18km in length from its terminus North of Swords to the city centre at St Stephens Green, and involves TBM tunnels, Cut & Cover tunnels, Viaducts, underground stops and all that goes with a first class transport system.

Designed to be compatible with existing and proposed Luas systems and the proposed Metro West project, it has direct interchanges with the Red & Green Luas lines and the Iarnrod Eireann “Arrow” service, as well as providing a direct link to the airport.

The other consortium which remains in the race is the Celtic Metro Group, comprising largely of international players. The scheme is currently awaiting resolution of the Railway Order process (akin to Planning Permission).
