Leanne Broderick Silver Medal Success at Construction Manager of the Year Awards

We are pleased to announce that Snr. Contracts Manager Leanne Broderick (pictured centre) has been awarded a Silver Medal for her works on our Rathbone Phase Two residential project in Canning Town, East London.
Competing in the ‘Residential over 6 Storeys’ category she faced fierce competition from fellow Contracts Managers working for the likes of Mace, Willmott Dixon and Bouygues UK. Despite this Leanne’s achievements on the scheme allowed her to rise high above her competition.
CIOB judges were impressed with her ability to drive value-engineering proposals, which resulted in circa £400k savings, through innovations such as redesigning the piling solution and changing the concrete frame to post tension slabs on the residential blocks.
It was noted that her composed approach to managing the supply chain was matched by high-energy leadership from the front.  As testament to this Adam West, Partner at CZWG, architects on the project, commented that “Leanne built up a loyal and well-motivated team of people who worked well together. Problems were dealt with in a calm way, with notable success”.
Further praise was given to by the evaluators, who acknowledged the fact that since completing works on the Phase One Scheme, Leanne has successfully led the team in negotiating the award of the Phase Two and Phase Three contracts.
Commenting on her success Guy Fowler, Major Projects, Main Board Director said “As Leanne’s Director I have witnessed first-hand her personal dedication to work. In support of this the firmness, fairness and good humour with which she goes about her business has won the respect of everybody with whom she interacts. Leanne is supporting the next generation of managers in their development and is a fantastic role model for women in construction, I am pleased that this is not only recognised by ourselves but also by bodies such as the CIOB.”
