Sisk recruits young trainee in Ulverston
A TRUCK-MAD tot realised his dreams of becoming a driver during a VIP tour of a factory site . Matthew ....... has been transfixed by the construction of the new biopharmaceutical facility at GSK, in Ulverston, stopping each day to observe its progress on his return from nursery. 'His visits have not gone unnoticed by security guards who invited him on site for a guided tour. The four-year-old got behind the wheel of a 20-tonne dumper truck before being presented with a remote control model as a memento of his visit.
Accompanying him, his grandma said: '.'He lost his tongue . because he's quite a shy little lad but he really enjoyed it. Explaining his fascination she added: "I live just up by the park, and the mixers and heavy machinery come under the bridge and go down towards GSK. We go down to see them after nursery."
Matthew was presented with a personalised hard hat and high-visibility jacket for his visit. "We had all the appropriate health and safety people around him so he was perfectly safe." 'Matthew came away with an armful of goodies and the prospect of a job when he's older..
