In August 2011, Eschmann launched a new initiative by asking their staff to propose a charity which the company would then select as its nominated charity. Whilst the company will continue to support specific charitable activities such as Red Nose/Comic Relief and Children in Need, the idea behind this initiative is to build and develop a partnership with the charity and devise a number of fund-raising activities to raise money over the course of the next year.
The charity ultimately selected by staff is a small, locally based one called the Enable Me Project which is run by just one full time member of staff, two part timers and a number of volunteers. Being that size and scale means that hopefully whatever contribution can be raised by staff at Eschmann will really make a difference to the important work carried out by the charity in the local area. There will hopefully also be the opportunity for staff, as appropriate, to be become involved in the some of the work undertaken by the Enable Me team.
