Client: Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital
Project: Design, supply and installation of three modular operating theatres at Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital in Finglas, Dublin; representing a new departure for the delivery of such a facility in Ireland.
Contract Value: € 2.65 Million
Handover Date: January 2011
Reduced local impact: While the concept of a modular operating theatre has been used in the UK this is the first such project in Ireland. Perceived limitations with regards to internal layouts imposed by modular build as opposed to more traditional on-site construction methods were overcome by this unique design that incorporates a modern orthopaedic theatre into a modular build format. Significantly reduced on-site construction activity afforded by modular build minimised environmental impact to existing operational hospital facilities. The three new operating theatres were installed adjacent to existing theatres that were kept fully operational during the project.
